Engagement sessions are truly something special, and this shoot with Brittany and Drew really takes me back to the warmer weather. The sunshine was beautiful and the company was even better on the day we met up to celebrate their engagement. The pair was so funny, warm, and kind, and yep, head over heels in love. I loved Brittany’s gorgeous, flowing blue maxi dress, and the way it softly moved when they were dancing! Are you someone who recently got engaged? I wanted to share my best tips for achieving a natural set of photos that don’t look overly posed:
- Have fun! Whether you laugh or even tell silly jokes, your engagement session shouldn’t be a time that is too serious. While I take MY role seriously, I want you to feel happy, at home, and comfortable. If you feel awkward in front of the camera, try recalling a funny story that you’ve shared, or a hilarious memory.
- Remember why you’re there: Your engagement is one of the happiest times in your life! You’re marrying your very best friend. Sometimes, just remembering the joy of this season of life is enough to get some big, genuine smiles!
- Move around: You don’t have to stand still to get perfect engagement photos. They are meant to tell the story of YOU and the one you love. Hold hands, walk, kiss, dance. The photos with some movement and life in them always turn out the best!
