If you’re blessed with tons of family and friends who are attending your perfect day, then you may be wondering how to keep things intimate and meaningful with such a long guest list. We have a few tips to share today, on how to make your guests feel right at home, and be sure every person feels seen and cared about at your special ceremony:
-Add texture and color: If you have a very neutral palette, adding table linens, and chair covers can really enhance a large space. You may have to use a space like a gymnasium, industrial building, or rustic barn, but that doesn’t mean it has to feel cavernous. Add drapes, hanging fabric, and even tapestries to the walls and ceilings for a chic, stylish feel that also fills in tall ceilings and open spaces. Adding in touches of your wedding colors through programs, linens, and flowers will also make your large venue feel more personable and warm.
-The small details matter: Even your tableware can make a real impact on such a big wedding, so choose cohesive pieces that look beautiful on a large scale. If you have a rustic theme, incorporate details like wood slices, mason jars, and wooden signs to tie your design together. A more formal affair may have shimmering details in gold or rose gold, and tiny bud vases. It doesn’t have to be expensive or enormous to make your guests see your personality come through!
-Remember the lighting: Whether you choose candles, large fixtures, or our favorite: string lighting, the way you light your ceremony and reception can make a lasting impact! Try to get as much natural light into your venue as possible, as well, to make the space brighter and more inviting. Bonus: good lighting will also improve your photos, but be sure to consult with your photographer on whether warm or cool tones will work with your vision.
-Add personal touches: Touches like personal photos, large canvases or photo boards will keep guests eyes moving through your space, and will add pieces of your love story. Other personal touches could include notes or mementos to remember family member who passed away (like grandparents), wedding photos of your parents, and even a slide show set up for guests to see near the food or cake tables. A photobooth is another nice way to guests to celebrate with you, and take home a little souvenir photo themselves!
