This was such a special day, with two beautiful people. It was rich with tradition, faith, and joy. And at their gorgeous venues, Frutig Farms in The Valley in Ann Arbor, the stage was set for amazing scenery and neither one disappointed! Frutig Farms is located in Washtenaw County, and is part of the efforts to preserve beautiful historical structures. It boasts a spacious gable-roof barn which was built around the 1840’s, and which has been incredibly restored to create a welcoming and rustic place for events and weddings. It’s part of sixteen acres of private property, which is family owned and nestled in the hills…it was a photographer’s dream!
Anna and Ricky met in college during their freshman year, through a mutual friend. They formed a friendship throughout college, eventually they even ended up living next-door to each other! After their college commencement ceremony, they reminded friends, and were reunited in 2013 for a football game they attended in 2013. It was then that they decided to try dating long-distance, since Ricky was based in Chicago, and Anna was grounded in Ann Arbor. The pair dated for almost four years, until they took a bike ride to Belle Isle, and Ricky asked the most important question: Will you marry me?
Of course, Anna enthusiastically said yes, and they began their journey to the altar. When they booked with me, they explained that their goal of the day was to make their guests feel comfortable, and they wanted to capture the candid happiness of everyone there. I especially love the first look sequence below, and think it tells more than any words can…two people, in love, and starting their life together. Enjoy!
